Ascent from San Giacomo to Tresenda

Towards the Val Caronella

Among the woods and alpine pastures of the Orobie

The route forms a ring through San Giacomo, San Sebastiano, Caprinale, Monegatti, Carona and Valcaronella and returning to San Giacomo. It is an itinerary of average difficulty, 26.8 km long and with an altitude difference of 1000 m. It takes 2-3 hours to travel, to be tackled on mountain bike or e-bike. The first part, to Carona, has an optimal slope and stretches along a path that is shady and cool, with thick vegetation. The second part, in the Val Caronella, is on a gravel and cement road, with a rather steep gradient. If you are on e-bike, we recommend medium-high assistance from the motor. Cycling along this stretch, you arrive at a picnic area on a broad terrace of the Valley. The road continues to a waterfall, but the path is difficult and cannot be cycled. The descent towards San Giacomo di Teglio follows the same itinerary.
