A stone’s throw from the clouds
The itinerary starts east of the Prato Valentino ski area and enables lovers of classic ski mountaineering to safely arrive in the proximity of the slopes for the descent.
Leaving your car in the parking area in Prato Valentino (1650 m.), you take the signposted trail to the right of the Baita del Sole and, along a long, easy route almost entirely in woodland, you reach a steep slope, which you climb, taking reasonable care, and which takes you to the 2000 m. of Dos Laù. Now go uphill, to the right of the dirt track, along the steep slope that takes you to the arrival point of the chairlift at 2200 m ASL. From here, still keeping to the right of the ski slopes, you climb up to Alpe Teglio, from where, with a long diagonal walk towards the left, you reach the ridge. Now continue left along the ridge till you arrive at the ski lifts; from here, after a final steep stretch, you arrive at the peak of Monte Brione.
