In the shade of cool woods
An itinerary that, leaving the town centre, going along the characteristic road of San Silvestro and some of the most panoramic zones of Teglio, enables you to reach the coolness of the Frascesca Spring.
A variation of the itinerary, which is shorter and has a lesser gradient, sets out from the locality of Gema Bassa, which can be reached by car from the centre of Teglio by following the signs for Prato Valentino.

A simple, charming itinerary that, leaving the centre of Teglio, passing through the characteristic ward of San Silvestro, takes you to the tranquillity and coolness of the Frascesca Spring. Start from Piazza Sant'Eufemia, where the Municipal Hall is located, and take Via San Silvestro, which ascends in a northward direction, walking alongside the ancient “hospice” of Teglio. After crossing Via Milano and passing the church of San Silvestro, after a few hundred metres, the gradient increases and you go along a stretch of road up to a junction. Then turn left into a dirt road and continue through large clearings and wooded stretches with enchanting views of the Tirano area, till you reach the houses of Brigna. Here, after two bends, you see the Croce dei Duséi on your right. Continue along the road that goes from Gema to Frascesca Spring. Following path no. 5, go along a stretch with a panoramic view of the slope of the Orobie, Mortirolo Pass and Mount Cancano, until you reach the Spring.

A simple walk, ideal for families with children. The route, in fact, winds gently between extensive areas and panoramic stretches with views of the Valley and the peaks that mark the border with Switzerland. Departing by car from the centre of Teglio, follow the signs for Prato Valentino till you come to Gema Bassa. At the main bend, where there is farm, a dirt road begins where it is possible to park. Here the path begins that takes you to Frascesca Spring, known for its refreshing waters and immersed in a relaxing environment. From here, among other things, you can enjoy a stupendous view of the eastern part of the Valtellina and particularly the town of Tirano.
