Verdomana Ring

Walking on snowshoes towards magical panoramas

An enchanted wood

From Prato Valentino, walk back down the main road until, when you have passed the last houses, you come to a road going off to the left. At the next crossroads, keep to the same direction and continue to go down the cart track, which is now a dirt road.
At the next junction, turn right, and, ignoring some side tracks, you will see the first log cabins in the locality of Bollone.
Within view of the trail signs, you ascend again, always keeping to the paved road passing amid some log cabins that have been partially restructured, and, after passing a small fountain on the right, you come to the road that goes from Teglio to Prato Valentino.
After crossing the road, just uphill from the left bend, cross the meadows and go into the wood of fir trees in the locality of Verdomana.
Having reached the end of the path and come to the road, you find other trail signs with indications to Prato Valentino, Saline. In fact you have come to a stretch of the Sentiero Italia path and, going between some log cabins, you ascend to reach the log cabins of Brione.
Again following the signs for Prato Valentino and having completed the slightly uphill path through the wood, now turn right onto a flat route and you return through a relaxing stretch to Prato Valentino.

Verdomana Alternative
Having passed the log cabins of Verdomana and arrived at the locality of Brione along a short, steep uphill stretch, ignore the signage that would take you directly back to Prato Valentino on a previous route, but keep to the main path climbing uphill following the indications for the locality of Saline.
Having ignored a first sign and reached a road above and a new trail sign, it is possible to keep to the trail uphill till you arrive at the locality of Saline and Dos Laù. From this point, following the signage you go back down to Prato Valentino.

Cà Cuntin - Bollone Alternative
From Prato Valentino, start to walk along the trail in an easterly direction, passing in front of two recently restructured log cabins. Ignoring the road that goes off to the right, follow a trail that heads off along the flat and into the wood on the left. After a few tens of metres, ignore the right bend and keep to the path in slight descent that takes you to Cà Cuntin.
On reaching the paved road, turn right and, after passing some log cabins, still going downhill, you come to a signposted junction. Here, following the indications for Prato Valentino and moving away from the main road, turn right uphill and at the next crossroads go straight ahead and you return to Prato Valentino.
