The Park of Rock Engravings offers the most important evidence of the passage of the ancient populations through Valtellina. On the rocks of the Park, particularly on the Rupe Magna, over five thousand figures are engraved, the oldest dating back to the end of the Neolithic Age, to the fourth millennium before Christ! On the summit of the hill that dominates the rock stand the older Castle of San Faustino and the New Castle. Alongside the archaeological importance of the area on the summit of the hill, the slopes of the Dosso dei Castelli [Castle Hill] offer a perfect example of the local Valtellinese tradition of building terracing systems with dry stone for the cultivation of vines.
