Where buckwheat is still ground today
Menaglio Mill is the best conserved example of the typical water mills that were once present all over the territory. The building, owned by the Municipality of Teglio, is visitable and stands on a steep slope of the Val Rogna, in the ward of San Rocco. Restoration has enabled the Mill to be active again and some small local producers can grind their own wheat here. A small museum has also been created inside it, where the tools that document the agricultural work and eating habits associated with the cultivation of cereals are conserved. A visit to this location is a dip into a past made of expectations, work and running water. An experience that is suitable not only for families, but for all those who want to rediscover the culture and crafts typical of the Valtellina tradition.
