E-bike, mountain bike or road bike The various forms of Teglio’s territory guarantee a number of possibilities for cycling enthusiasts. Its gentle slopes map out long routes but with well calibrated gradients, while its flat areas along the valley bottom give the whole family fun on two wheels.
Over the broad region, three routes are therefore delineated on the road: one along the famous Sentiero Valtellina [Valtellina Path] - which winds its way along the valley bottom alongside the River Adda for 114 kilometres from Colico to Bormio - and two along Provincial Road 21, which take you from Tresenda and Chiuro to the town. The Sentiero Valtellina is accessible from the bridge over the River Adda, at Tresenda, and can be travelled in two directions. To the west, heading towards the Lower Valtellina, and to the east, towards the Upper Valtellina. This flat, asphalted route is suitable for all and is a strategic departure point to discover the locations and flavours of the valley bottom. The route is also equipped with a bike hire service, offering city bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes for adults and children and useful bike trolleys for the little ones.
The two routes by road, on the other hand, along Provincial Road 21, are more demanding and involve an altitude difference of around 400 metres. Yet there is no shortage of ascents and high-adrenaline descents for mountain bike lovers, who can indulge themselves along paths and trails in the woods.
