Trekking for all and alpine itineraries Teglio’s walks offer breathtaking panoramas, immersed in nature and in a thousand years of history. Around the town, various routes spread out along gentle ascents and descents, easy for the whole family to tackle. The walks take you off to discover the wards around Teglio, such as San Rocco and its Menaglio Mill, the charming Somasassa Lake and the rock engravings in the area of Caven. Relaxing walks, also with the elderly and children, continue on the Sentiero Valtellina [Valtellina Path] that winds its way along the valley bottom of Teglio’s territory. Picnic areas and play parks are dotted along the asphalted path, which, from the entry point in Tresenda, goes west towards the Lower Valtellina and east towards the Upper Valtellina. Then there is no shortage of pedestrian routes on the mountain side, along beside the dry stone walls of our slopes, such as the Via dei Terrazzamenti and the Sentiero Mariano delle Alpi. For more experienced walkers, lovers of mountain trekking, the territory’s peaks create more challenging routes that reach high altitudes above 2000 metres. The roof of Teglio is Mount Combolo (2900 m a.s.l.), above the ski slopes of Prato Valentino, but tall peaks are there waiting to be climbed on the Orobic slope, such as Mount Torena, between Val Caronella and Val Belviso. Prato Valentino - on the Rhaetian slope - and Val Caronella and Val Belviso - on the Orobic slope - also offer mountain excursions that are suitable for all.
